چکیده

We study the ground state properties of a system of N harmonically trapped bosons of mass m interacting with two-body contact interactions, from small to large scattering lengths. This is accomplished in a hyperspherical coordinate system that is flexible enough to describe both the overall scale of the gas and two-body correlations. By adapting the lowest-order constrained variational (LOCV) method, we are able to semi-quantitatively attain Bose-Einstein condensate ground state energies even for gases with infinite scattering length. In the large particle number limit, our method provides analytical estimates for the energy per particle E0/N ≈ 2.5Nh̄ω and two-body contact C2/N ≈ 16N √

Voltage Regulation of DC-DC Series Resonant Converter Operating in Discontinuous Conduction Mode: The Hybrid Control Approach

Dynamic modeling and control of dc-dc series resonant converter (SRC) especially when operating in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) is still a challenge in power electronics. Due to semiconductors switching, SRC is naturally represented as a switched linear system, a class of hybrid systems. Nevertheless, the hybrid nature of the SRC is commonly neglected and it is modeled as a purely contin...

Effect of realistic interatomic interactions and two - body correlation on the heat capacity of a trapped BEC

An approximate hyperspherical many-body theory has been used to calculate the heat capacity and the condensate fraction of a BEC with effective repulsive interaction. The effect of interactions has been analysed and compared with the non-interacting case. It has been found that the repulsive interaction lowers the critical temperature from the value found in the non-interacting case. The differ...

Atom-molecule laser fed by stimulated three-body recombination.

Using three-body recombination as the underlying process, we propose a method of coherently driving an atomic Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) into a molecular BEC. Superradiantlike stimulation favors atom-to-molecule transitions when two atomic BECs collide at a resonant kinetic energy, the result being two molecular BEC clouds moving with well-defined velocities. Potential applications include ...

Hyperspherical approach to three-electron atomic systems.

The hyperspherical coordinates approach to three-electron atomic systems is further refined by taking into account the symmetry of the electrons analytically. Spins are treated explicitly for both doublet and quartet cases to reduce the three-electron Schrödinger equation to a set of coupled two-dimensional partial differential equations in a compact, symmetric form ready for numerical calculat...
